This Figured European Maple beauty is another one
of those instrument that one would like to keep for himself. A jewel from
every angle. The sound is
captivating from the very first
note. Clarity, sweetness and balance are the best words to describe the
first string. Deep and mysterious are
the best adjectives to describe
the bass. The response is very fast and the strings vibrate fully at every
stroke of the right hand. I use free
stroke throughout Romance and I
am amazed at the power of the sound on this concert beauty. Figured Macassar
ebony for the bridge and
fingerboard, Figured Palisander
for the armrest, Ebony bindings and luxury marquetry dress up this
queen for a ball.
Playing on the 640mm radiused fingerboard
is easy and pleasurable. The armrest keeps at bay every interference between
the forearm and the
Italian spruce top. It adds 15 dbs
to the powerful 92 dbs that this maple queen puts out.
I added the Phase 3 Bellucci enhancements
to the Hauser frame and the result is a winning instrument. One you cannot
let go.
