Goncalo Alves B&S , Canadian cedar top concert guitar
    Goncalo alves has been exploited for many centuries because of its great beauty. It is very rare and only a few logs are exported yearly from Costa Rica. It is the only instrument that has received a unanimous acclaim by classical, flamenco and Bossa players at a recent meeting in Asunción. The trebles are well balanced and sing wonderfully and the basses are well separated. The action is fast and so is the response to plucking.  A jewel ! I can setup the action for flamenco style playing on request.

 

Dear Renato,  I thought you might like to hear an update regarding my Goncalvo Alvez/Cedar guitar.  It has opened up spectacularly...with enormous range and dynamics and incredible over- and under-tones.  Its tone is sweet and lovely, it is very responsive to vibrato and to changes in attack and location on the string where notes are plucked, and I hear voices in pieces that I have never heard before.  It stands up well to really "digging in" but also responds to gentle caresses.    Do you plan to build more?  I recommend highly that you do.  Warm regards,  David
