Bubinga
is a flamed exotic wood, sought by guitar makers and small box builders
alike... It is better known as African rosewood. Bubinga is a uniquely
reddish brown color, a little heavier than other tropical woods. This magic
wood darkens with age. Bubinga produces a bright, clear, ringing tone with
a lot of sustain, emphasizing the fundamental note. Beautiful balance in
tone and projection are among Bubinga's main characteristics.
We are building a new series of
instruments based on a 1943 Hauser Senior plans. We opted for the 640 mm
scale to compensate for the larger body.
This instrument is simply ASTONISHING.
The sound is so powerful that you cannot believe it is actually a cutaway.
The mid ranges shine and the bass is round and clear. I set the action
very low and playing on this baby is a real pleasure. A one in a
million instrument !!
